As an architect, I have evolved from designing functional spaces to a deep commitment to the well-being of vulnerable communities. Over 25 years at Vivamos Mejor, I have specialized in social issues, understanding that my work not only transforms physical environments but also strengthens community cohesion and development, with a strong focus on early childhood. From social program management, I have promoted projects that create dignified, sustainable, and inclusive environments, improving the quality of life of children and their families.

I believe that change begins at the local level, and my daily work at AVMG honors my parents’ legacy of struggle for the common good. My background in agroecology has allowed me to understand the deep connection between Mother Earth and humanity, valuing both ancestral and scientific knowledge. Seeing communities apply what they learn and restore local agrobiodiversity deeply motivates me. Although the road is long, at AVMG I never walk alone.

I am a Maya woman with a deep love for nature and humanity. From an inherited worldview, I promote the exchange of knowledge in favor of food and nutrition security. My training in leadership, management, governance, and education allows me to develop culturally and linguistically relevant learning processes. I aspire for children in Guatemala to have access to health, nutrition, and education. Since 2012, AVMG has inspired me to work with commitment and a sustainable development focus in vulnerable communities.

I am a nurse with more than 20 years of experience in the health sector and a strong commitment to maternal and child care. I believe in collaborative work to strengthen knowledge and practices that save lives. Through the Utz’ Na’n “Healthy Mothers” Project, I promote group prenatal counseling in Totonicapán and Sololá, encouraging early enrollment and consistent prenatal care to reduce maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality.
